Just take a look at some of the entries we received for the 2018 Senior’s Beautiful Gardens Competition! There was a wide variety of entries received from across the greater Darwin area and for the different categories of the competition. It certainly made the judges decision a difficult one! 1.  Large garden entry (Marylin) 2.

  Parap Primary School in Parap, NT, has been awarded the prestigious Eco-Schools Silver Award for exceptional achievement in ‘greening’ physical structure and grounds, conserving natural resources and integrating environmental education into the curriculum. It is the firt school in the Northern Territory to attain the silver-level award, Eco-Schools Australia’s second of three awards honor.

After coming a close second many times before, Finke was named Best Medium Community at the 2017 Territory Tidy Town awards ceremony.  This qualified the community to be judged as a national finalist in the 2018 Australian Tidy Town Awards. The last pallet lots of native trees and plants were dispatched, early this New Year, to East Arnhem Regional Community of Galiwin’ku, in preparation for replanting and revegetating by the residents. On 21st February 2015 Tropical Cyclone Lam, with very destructive winds, directly hit devastating our Tidy Towns communities of Milingimbi, Ramingimbi and Galiwin’ku. A

The small remote township and community of Finke (in MacDonnell Region of NT) is a very beautiful, clean and tidy desert town.  They are working hard towards the “Territory Tidy Towns” program. Here are some photos of the team in our small township community of Finke getting creative by building 3D aluminium ‘FINKE’ sign.

The township of Maningrida (the biggest remote township community in NT) has effectively and successfully  continuously achieved positive social and environmental improvements throughout the year.  Keep an eye out for the ‘Maningrida Dream Team’ in their orange shirts as they are hard at work keeping Maningrida Beautiful.    They are going hard in our Territory Tidy Towns

Finke is a small desert community, almost 450km drive South of Alice Springs.   We’re very proud of their efforts in keeping their community clean and tidy and wish them luck in the Territory Tidy Towns 2017 competition.
