Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?
Join millions of people reducing their plastic waste.
Here are some ideas for practical things you can do this July to reduce plastic waste:
At work
Choose to refuse single-use plastic in your work kitchen
Look at the bins in your workplace – is there a recycling bin? Is it being used correctly?
At school
Choose alternatives to single-use cutlery in the canteen,
Does your school use straws in the canteen? Perhaps there is another option that can be used?
Aim to reduce plastic waste in the classroom (for teachers)
Try to reduce the amount of single-use plastic in school lunches (for parents)
In the community
Join in local clean up’s in your community
See if your favourite cafe / takeaway has options other than single-use plastic cutlery. Encourage the use of reusable cups instead of takeaway coffee cups.
Plastic-free July is a great opportunity to take the time to look at the type of waste we generate at home, school, work and in our community and to try to take steps to address and minimise the plastic waste.
