ENGAWALA is located some 200 km north east of Alice Springs on Alcoota Station which is one of the Territory’s oldest pastoral leases. It was handed back to the traditional owners back in 2012. The Station is also well known for the unique fossil-beds that are located on the property.
Engawala has been active in its effort to reduce ground litter and change waste disposal behavioural practices and attitudes through community participation, ownership, and responsibility.
