KABC(NT) Chief Executive, Heimo Schober, said beautiful gardens help create beautiful cities for all to share and encourage native wildlife through provision of food and habitat.
“Beautiful gardens certainly provide enjoyment with huge benefits for people, society and the environment,” Mr Schober said.
“A large number of our Top End senior Territorians invest a lot of time and effort, taking great pride and joy in their gardens and it’s about time we start giving recognition and acknowledgement for their hard work and efforts.
“We are looking for well-presented yards and gardens with thriving healthy plants plus environmental benefits and home safety considered in design.
“Evidence of passion, enthusiasm and commitment are all good strong indicators of a potential winning garden.”
Senior Top End Territorians interested in participating can register their garden entry with KABC(NT) until mid-August (ceo@kabcnt.org.au). The winners will be announced on 29th August at a luncheon awards event at Pearl Retirement Resort Leisure Centre in Fannie Bay, Darwin.
