Territory Tidy Town

The small remote township and community of Finke (in MacDonnell Region of NT) is a very beautiful, clean and tidy desert town.  They are working hard towards the “Territory Tidy Towns” program. Here are some photos of the team in our small township community of Finke getting creative by building 3D aluminium ‘FINKE’ sign.

The Team in Maningrida are doing an excellent job in tidying up their town.  Maningrida has historically had a very disappointingly low ‘litter rating index’ for years but we’re so relieved that a ‘Champion’ has stepped forward to guide Maningrida towards continuous improvement. Having been named the Territory Tidy Town, the people of Areyonga recently showcased their community to the national Tidy Town judge ahead of attending the national awards in Tasmania . The day culminated with a community barbeque on the basketball courts where the local ladies choir gave an impromptu performance for the visiting judge. See Areyonga
