JILL GRANT – Territory Tidy Towns Judge

We’d like to introduce our Tidy Town Sustainable Community Judge to you – we are very proud to announce that Jill Grant, for the second year running, will assess projects and communities within Northern Territory for our 2019 Territory Awards – “Thanks Jill”.

Jill has a background in agriculture, natural resource management and education. Jill worked with the Federal Government and NGO groups for many years on programs relating to water and forest management, sustainable tourism, renewable energy and environmental technologies especially in relation to waste reduction and reuse. In recent years she has taught tertiary students about how to reduce and manage climate change impacts and is a volunteer leader and mentor with the Climate Reality Project.

Jill was the KAB National Tidy Towns judge from 2014-2017 and is passionate about improving the environmental conditions and quality of life for regional communities.  She believes that environmental education, particularly for young people, and active community engagement using local knowledge, traditions and networks is the best way to build a healthier and fairer future.
